Guest guest
Congratulations. I just got a date today of 9/8 and have to loose 13 lbs. I will make it though. I loose initially really fast. I am excited, but very scarred. I have wanted this so bad. 11 more days and it will be over. Have had alot of support on here related to my biggest fear, PAIN. I am determined I will do it! You will do fine! It is really more of an uncomfortable feeling, more than pain. And some people feel almost nothing. Hopefully, you will be one of them. (And Holly, too!).. You will not regret doing this! Deb

Guest guest
I just read the Web site again and it said the CBC, uninalysis and EKG do not have to be turned in with the packet (they can be done closer to the scheduled surgery date, I guess). I was wondering if the physical exam and history needs to be done within 30 days of the surgery. The Web site also says that the pap smear and mamo needs to be recent. I had mine done about 6- 8 weeks ago. I am assuming that is recent enough. Any further info from post ops would help. I want to turn my packet in around Sept 11 and want to have it right. - waiting in Chicago My first clinic with Dr. R. Well.....here it is, just a few more hours til Tuesday comes along and I'm on my way to Durham to meet with Dr. Rutledge for my first clinic. I'm having to postpone turning in my packet because I have to get my physical, ekg, & blood work redone because I got it too early and it's already over 30 days. I went to the gym this morning to workout before work and weighed myself. I've dropped 4 pounds since Wednesday...YEAH!!!! I only have 20 more to go and then I'll be at the 350 limit. I'm hoping to lose it all by at least the middle/end of September. I'm switching between an all liquid diet and the Atkins diet I'm probably going to go next week to get my physical and labs redone and then I'm sending in my packet. My insurance is pending...I still have to meet with Dr. R, but I think it'll do fine because a co-worker's husband had the surgery about a month ago and they have the same insurance as I do. So everyone....wish me luck that I get accepted by Dr. Rutledge and I can drop this last 20 pounds as quickly as possible. I really want this surgery. Those of you who are in the 1pm clinic tomorrow...I'll see you there! Guest guest
Thanks for the quick reply Donna. That's what I thought but I'm glad to have it confirmed. - waiting in Chicago Re: My first clinic with Dr. R. , Your physical, pap and mammo (if over 40) should be less than 1 year. Your EKG, Chem7, and CBC should be within 30 days prior to surgery. You can submit your packet without the EKG, Chem7 and CBC, but otherwise your packet should be complete. Good luck in your quest! Guest guest
Bob, I have been reading all of your posts and I am thrilled that it is almost your turn. I am 17 days post-op and am doing well. I have lost 25 pounds already. My blood pressure is normal again and although I am tired some days from the lower calorie diet, I feel better than I have in years. They won't let you hurt at Durham Regional. You'll be fine. Congratulations and good luck getting through the 11 longest days of your life! Stormy MGB 8/11/00 > Congratulations. > I just got a date today of 9/8 and have to loose 13 lbs.
