Guest guest
I'm not sure if anyone answered your question, but I would definately say yes. We had some success with CST before getting into her helmet. The treatment is generally just a light touch on various parts of the body, but often on the head. To be honest, it looks like they're not really doing anything, but the results with her head were the proof for us. It's difficult to determine what is from the CST since she got in the helmet. Plus, our PT says that the helmet does most of the work and she just makes sure that things are aligned correctly to benefit from the helmet. We haven't been going as often lately. We only have one more appointment and that one is five weeks after the last one. Finding a good practioner is another story. I don't have any hints here, except to say that it seems that PT's and DO's are the ones to look for. Make sure that they've treated infants and for this condition before. We got a recommendation from our cranial specialist so that's who we went with (we travel 45 mintues to see her). , mom to , 18 months 14.5 weeks in STARband plus CST land CST? Guest guest
" CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. " You can find out more at: http://upledger.com/content.asp?id=26 It is considered an alternative treatment for plagio. it doesn't have scientific studies proving it works for plagio (that i know of), but some parents feel it helps treat plagio either alone, or more often in conjunction with a band. -christine sydney, 3 yrs, starband grad > From: mane5476@... <mane5476@...> > Subject: Re: CST? > Plagiocephaly > Date: Friday, February 27, 2009, 11:27 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > Thank you for the input, I would look into it and see if I can find someone around my area. Guest guest
My cranial specialist doctor did say that there was some good research indicating that it was an effective treatment for plagio/brachy. She didn't give any references and I didn't ask for any, but she encouraged me to seek the treatment. They actually have PTs that offer the treatment at their office. Because my insurance didn't have coverage for the PT's in their office because they were out of network, she gave me a referral to another agency. Now, I haven't actually seen anything, but then I haven't gone looking so I'm not sure what she was talking about. We didn't have a discussion about CST outside of helmet therapy or in combination with it. , mom to , 18 months 14.5 weeks in STARband plus CST land CST?> > Hello Everyone,> > My son has been in his Doc band for 3 weeks now and I just heard about> CST treatments.
