Guest guest
Hey, Ken! I KNOW I already asked but is your date Sept. 20? My tiny mind just can't grasp the facts! I am so excited that I am really going to do this that I can't seem to settle down! Guest guest
Tami; Yes, I'll be there on the 20th with y'all (I'm working on my southern lingo). We are staying at the Hawthorne Suites as well. We'll be flying in on the 18th and our clinic appointment is for the afternoon show. I was sitting (my favorite activity these days)here and surfing through all these wonderful before and after pictures that folks are posting and all the personal stories and something just hit me. It seems 9 out of 10 people getting surgery, and this is really any of the bariatric surgeries, are women. Why is that? It can't just be a looks thing. This hurts our joints, and heart, and health as much as it does yours. I wonder why so few men do this? Are there more obese women than men? I don't think so. Just wondering. 18 days and counting... (1) It's harder to get pictures from the guys (that's a hint, Ken, Steve, Bill, Ivan, etc.) (2) It's not as socially unacceptable for a man to be big. Big isn't even seen as particularly negative for men until they get so obese it interferes with everyday life in a way that other people notice. (3) Men are more afraid of pain than women. <I'm ducking and running here> Kind regards,
