An RV is a Recreational Vehicle. Ours is a Winnebago. We have a bedroom,

bathroom, closet, kitchen, dining room and a couch with the driver and passenger

seats in front.

Or, as my nieces and nephews like to call it---our " Camper Car " .

This yard sale goes from Gadsden, Alabama to near Lexington, Kentucky----450

miles long!!!!

We only went down about 200 miles.

Some are individuals set up in their yards. Others have several

sellers---10, 20, 50 separate tables set up in one location.

It is also set up on the scenic routes.

You would love it!

Love,

Aunt B

Our Trip to Kentucky

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to say that our trip to the Shriner's Convention in Kentucky

began

as a disaster!

First thing, the generator for the RV wouldn't start because the

batteries

were dead. Before we even left town, we had to replace two of them.

Not too far down the road the beeper for the gas warning alarm went off.

I

pressed the reset button and it stopped.

A little more driving and it went off again. This time nothing would

make it

stop.

As my husband started looking for a place to pull over, we noticed smoke

spiraling up from the alarm panel.

By the time we found a place big enough to pull over the RV so hubby

could

check out the problem, there were small flames shooting out of the

panel. He

grabbed the fire extinguisher and put out the flame. As he was pulling

the

panel out of the wall, the plastic melted onto two of his fingers. He

managed to

get the panel removed and the fire inside the wall extinguished.

What a mess---white powder all over the place. It seemed the more I

swept,

the more powder settled!

Made it the rest of the way to Lexington. When we stopped we notices a

funny

smell. Uh-oh! The battery box was smelling a little funny. When hubby

opened the box, the battery was on fire!

MORE white powder! One of the batteries had burned a hole in the top

and

burned the nylon handle in two.

By the time we got Mom checked into the motel it had cooled off some and

we

decided to sleep in the RV with just the windows opened. Turned out it

was

still rather warm until early the next morning----when it was time to

get out of

bed I just wanted to sleep in the nice cool air!

Found a chain location of the place we bought the batteries and they

replaced

them at no cost. Whew! We finally got a break. Then we found an RV

place

and found out there was a reset button on the OUTside of the RV and got

everything working again!! Yippiee!!

We decided to unload the van an go downtown to look around. Found the

convention hall and did some shopping. Had a heck of a time finding

souvenir's

until we stopped in a Hallmark store.

By this time we were frustrated and decided to load the van and head

back

South.

Drove the scenic route down the mountain for the World's Longest Yard

Sale

and had a blast. Stayed overnight between Lima Bean Lane and Butter

Bean Lane

at an RV park. Lots of trees and other scenery.

We got home a day early--tired but happy with lots of great treasures

found

along the way.

Sooooooooo, how was YOUR weekend?

Love ya'll,

Aunt B

I am glad you had a little bit of enjoyment! LOL

I live in Louisville, Kentucky - roughly 80 miles from Lexington. I am

very blessed and very proud to live here. I think the landscape is

absolutely magnificent - and the horses aren't too bad either! ; )

If you ever make it back - I hope your next trip is a bit smoother!

Take care!
