Guest guest
Hi Marsha I had my MGB on July 20th..coming from NY, I traveled to NC by Amtrak...with my 72 yr old mother to go with me. I weighed 321# pre op, and now at three weeks have lost 24#'s......mom did well...and loved Dr. R....she was a little nervous but fine....We stayed at Extended Stay America in Durham, and it was only $325.00 with tax for 8 days. it included a fridge, microwave, stove and dishes for two people...great for mom to eat while I couldnt.....Grocery store within range....I recommend renting a car not using the taxi system like I did...too expensive....the girls at Dr. R's office will be able to give you great directions.... good luck and let me know how you do....any questions Id be glad to answer for you... see you on the other side Jeanne in NY --- Marsha Biggs wrote: > Hello all, > > I've posted a couple of other times in the past > couple weeks, but > either missed the responses, or somehow the posts > didn't appear. > Anyway...just wanted to share the news that I have > been accepted, > approved, and scheduled for Dr. Rutledge on Wed, > Aug. 30, patient > #6. Guest guest
Hi Marsha, Well I thought I was the only one coming from far away. I will be at the clinic on the 29th at 1:00 and I am scheduled for the morning of the 30th. I didn't know that there are six of us so far. I did have a 21-day notice that is why I picked the 30th. My husband and I will be flying on 3 different planes for a total of over 7 hour in the air to get there at 7:30 pm Monday the 28th. We are renting a car at the airport and are staying I think at the Hawthorn Suites. You can call 1 877 med stay and see if they can get you a good rate at a hotel that has a shuttle service to the hospitals. Also go to a site like mapquest.com and you can type in the address that you are going to and from and it will give you blow-by-blow directions that you can print out. I put the address of my hotel and the address of Dr. Rutledge's office and printed out the directions so we could find it on Tuesday, for you have to check in at his office before you go to clinic and I think they have a map to the clinic. I will be happy to help you any way I can but like yourself have never done this before. My email address is sumlinsr @ Charter.net (remove spaces) Melody is also going on the 30th and Jonie will be at the clinic on the 29th. Like I told Jonie you would be able to recognize me, I will be the fat one hehehehe. Looking forward to meeting you Marjory Sumlin 53yrs 52BMI 5'2 " 280lbs From San Obispo Ca > Hello all, > > I've posted a couple of other times in the past couple weeks, but > either missed the responses, or somehow the posts didn't appear. > Anyway...just wanted to share the news that I have been accepted, > approved, and scheduled for Dr. Rutledge on Wed, Aug. 30, patient > #6.
