Ellen,

I am not really familiar with the condition that your daughter has,

but I want to welcome you to the list.

I also want you to know that not being able to have eggs or dairy will

not ruin your chances of being able to implement SCD.

Can you tell us what happens when she eats eggs or dairy?

There are plenty of things to eat that don't contain eggs or dairy.

You will have to tap into your creativity, especially if she is a

picky eater. But it's not impossible. We'll do our best to help you.

I have this weird form of esophagatis, non reflux oriented. I implementnt SCD

for myself and my children. I have an undiagnosed immune condition, one of the

best way to keep the immune system calm is to heal the intestines and provide

nutrition, which SCD does. Tailoring foods for your child is fine, we do that.

Hi, I am new to this board. My daughter is 2 1/2 and has

Eosiniphilic colitis. I have consulted with another ND who is

reccomending the SCD. My question is has anyone out there used this

diet for eosiniphilic conditions? The Eosinophilic colitis is fairly

rare, there is not much research on it. She current eats a very

limited number of foods, and is doing remarkably well considering her

diagnosis, but I am look for totally gut healing. Most of the primary

food on the SCD are ones she can't have: She has an anaphilactic

allergy to egg, and can't do any forms of milk ( goat, yoghurts, etc.)

presently.( though I get theat this may change as her gut heals) If

there is anyone with this disorder who has used this diet, I would

appriciate hearing from you!

Thanks Ellen

I have Collagenous Colitis and it is one of the rarer forms of colitis. I have

healed with the SCD diet. I too couldn't tolerate eggs or dairy. Now I am able

to eat both. Healing does take time though. I did paleo diet for years and

managed my colitis, but SCD is helping me heal and enabling me to add dairy and

eggs back.

I am no help but am in a similar situation I think. My son hasn't had a

scope because the ped GI said she knew she'd see allergic colitis so it

wasn't necessary. We are very new to this but wanting to heal his gut so he

can tolerate more than just a few foods. So far having difficulty

implementing as the only foods he doesn't react to that are SCD legal are

turkey and tuna. We dove right into a limited intro diet but he's been

having mild allergic reactions.

Just wanted to let you know there was someone else here thinking along the

same lines even if I don't have enough experience to help yet.
