Guest guest
Hi Lara, I just want you to know you CAN do this.I know you can.First, decide this is exactly what your goal is, then get a meal plan,(from your PCP,a book, support group,WHEREVER)and stick to it.Pick a buddy, and every time you want to eat for an emotional reason,EMAIL OR CALL a buddy.I will be the first to volunteer,IF you choose this buddy system. My hotmail address is Redbug555*hotmail.com(replace * with @)My # is (H),(W),(PAGER).We all could give 'our list'of favorites, but what will work for you is what YOU are comfortable with. The diet you select is not really relevant as long as you can stay on it.Several people posting have recommended Atkins Diet,I have never been on it BUT it sure looks easy to stick to.Weight Watchers also has a new division,in most areas, especially for the morbidly obese. And Optifast is usually available in most areas through some physician regulated program,no longer only through hospitals.I have lost 85 lbs on Opti in 22 wks.Remember you are NOT trying to lose it for life, you are trying to get to SURGERY. Guest guest
Lara. I will pray for you!! I wish I had some magic answer for you but if I did..none of us would need surgery! I know how hard it is to lose weight no matter what the reward is (in this case the surgery). Be strong...you can do it! We are all here for you!! Hugs to you!! Guest guest
You are in our prayers, Lara! Keep up your positive attitude. We all know how hard it is, but you have to keep your goal in mind. Once you have the MGB it will be sooo much easier for you! I'll be thinking of you and praying for you. Deb in IL

I won't say all the usual stuff like, well that's 6 pounds less, or you didn't gain it over night, lol Can you tell I've been on a few diets??????? Are you being allowed any drugs to help?
