I have been doing so about three times a week. Chicken (some types) also has arsenic The media tells us (via nutritionists and dietitians) red meat is not supposed to be consumed often And, Elaine has said it's hard to be a vegetarian and follow SCD (but it is possible) People with egg, nut and dairy have further restrictions. Toss in other groups' restrictions ( like LOD on dark green vegetables ). Consider new people arriving with picky eaters and what's left? I for one could eat lamb chops every night but that does not sound like a great idea :-( > Carol F. Toronto, celiac, SCD 6 years
Guest guest
>>> but shellfish is absolutely loaded with inorganic and organic arsenic and contrary to popular scientific opinion, organic arsenic is still highly toxic fish three times a week will have been affecting you, especially since mercury excretion drops way off with age<<< It's true. Something I noticed taking shellfish completely out of the diet, when it is eaten, I notice color change under the eye. There is something to this, and why more people are excluding seafood. You'll know, to some extent, how it is affecting you if you take it out of diet completely, say for three months, then try to eat some again. I would heed the above advice and give this a try. I very occassionally eat one really fresh salmon, wild caught. Summer Summer's Family, SCD 08/04 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/openblooms/ --------------------------------- New Yahoo! Every effort should be made to round out the diet sensibly...etc. " Carol F. Toronto, celiac, SCD 6 years
