Guest guest
I just read an article where they said that indoor hot tubs can and do cause alot of bacteria in the lungs. It has to do with the water being hot and then when you turn on the jets its vapors go in the lungs and a bacteria grows there. Normal healthy people get this also and get really sick from it. They call it Hottub something. I would be very careful..I have an outdoor hottub that does not seem to bother my son. But now that I read that I will be much more careful and tell him to also be careful. > >Reply-To: cfparents >To: cfparents >Subject: Whirlpools.... yes or no??? >Date: Thu, 10 Jul 2003 03:00:13 -0000 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >X-Originating-IP: 64.214.45.52 >Received: from n19.grp.scd.yahoo.com ([66.218.66.74]) by >mc3-f23.law16.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.5600); Wed, 9 Jul >2003 20:03:51 -0700 >Received: from [66.218.67.197] by n19.grp.scd.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 10 Jul >2003 03:00:16 -0000 >Received: (qmail 62582 invoked from network); 10 Jul 2003 03:00:15 -0000 >Received: from unknown (66.218.66.218) by m4.grp.scd.yahoo.com with QMQP; >10 Jul 2003 03:00:15 -0000 >Received: from unknown (HELO n9.grp.scd.yahoo.com) (66.218.66.93) by >mta3.grp.scd.yahoo.com with SMTP; 10 Jul 2003 03:00:15 -0000 >Received: from [66.218.67.129] by n9.grp.scd.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 10 Jul >2003 03:00:14 -0000 >X-Message-Info: JGTYoYF78jEHjJx36Oi8+Q1OJDRSDidP >X-eGroups-Return: >sentto-104900-46233-1057806016-clog1760=msn.com@... >X-Sender: dpolski@... >X-Apparently-To: cfparents >Message-ID: <beikrt+782n (AT) eGroups (DOT) com> >User-Agent: eGroups-EW/0.82 >X-Mailer: Yahoo Groups Message Poster >X-Yahoo-Profile: nikaeto >Mailing-List: list cfparents ; contact >cfparents-owner >Delivered-To: mailing list cfparents >Precedence: bulk >List-Unsubscribe: <mailto:cfparents-unsubscribe > >Return-Path: >sentto-104900-46233-1057806016-clog1760=msn.com@... >X-OriginalArrivalTime: 10 Jul 2003 03:03:52.0335 (UTC) >FILETIME=[E47079F0:01C3468F] > >We are leaving for vacation tomorrow and all the talk about pools >brought this question to mind. Guest guest
The jets in whirlpool bath tubs (hotels or homes) have always concerned me. There doesn't seem to be a way to really clean inside the jets. When I see how bacteria and mould can build up easily inside sink drains, I wonder what is growing inside the jets (which likely stay damp between uses) and how much of that gets aerosolized when the jets are on. I would love to enjoy a whirlpool so I wish someone could disprove my thoughts! M
Guest guest
I thought the tubing that ran from the jets never gets a chance to dry in these things and had been known to grow psuedomonas. Can you bathe with out the jets running? Maybe that will help.
