Our ortho glued foam back into our band after it was accidentally shaved out

too much. The band never fit real well after that and they ended up making

us a new band for free. So yes, it can be done but I wouldn't recommend it.

Re: The foam inside the Boston band

Cranial Tech does not tape or glue foam back in (isn't super glue toxic?),

and generally speaking, it's not a common practice for foam to be added back

in. If a band fits properly, there should be no reason to do that. I have

heard of it happening, but it's pretty rare, and I'm sorry to say it,

usually is an indication of a poorly fitted band, a bad adjustment, and/or

an inexperienced ortho.

I need to clarify this with the orthotist. When it was initially put on it was so loose and then they said this just means he can be in it longer which I didn't undestand because I thought it was like an onion where you shave sections out with growth and it should fit well from the ghetgo. I would say it fits well now but it did reek like glue for a while. I doubt it was the new helmet smell.
