Guest guest
What's up with the yahoo update on the search engine? I am trying to type in " Summer Goat Milk Yogurt " to try to catch all the great tips and instructions I have seen Summer post for fresh goat's milk since I've been on the list. (Got my very fresh goat's milk today and am so excited to make yogurt!!) It keeps saying over 5000 results and to narrow my search. I am on day 2 of SCD along with Cody and am HUNGRY and craving sugar and chocolate and a frosty and my Pamela's baking mix and.... and maybe a little more brain foggier than usual? Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong for the search? I heated my milk to 180 degrees- it is unpastuerized and unfiltered. The goat lady told me to heat it to 145 degrees, but I read elsewhere to go to 180 degrees. I don't boil it right??? Thanks! Janet- SCD 2 days for chronic brain fog and support for son- dx IBS 7 yrs- positive celiac gene and markers 1 yr- multiple allergies as child mostly outgrown- and did I mention I'm craving sugar!! mom to: Cody- 5 yrs old- SCD since 4-17-06- multi food allergies/intolerance- leaky gut- asthma/no meds now- high metals- MB12 shots 1 1/2 yrs- dairy and soy free 4 yrs- GF etc 2 yrs plus- double DQ7 genes & positive celiac markers- gaining weight and getting healthy on SCD! Guest guest
I'm here! Bring the raw goat milk up to 180 degrees, you'll be fine. It is correct, I do not bring my goat milk up to a bubbling boil, in fact, I heat it gently on low, it takes awhile, but I try to damage it as little as possible. Summer . Guest guest
Thanks Summer! It did work to type in your yahoo id and I just spent some nice time reading some of your old posts which led me to some of 's and so forth. So many interesting and informative things to re-read and re-process that didn't absorb the first time I read them. I did slowly bring the milk up to 180 degrees then cooled to about 100 degrees and strained through cheesecloth before adding starter. I'm sitting here second guessing my every move- but I think I did everything right. Except I forgot to sterilize my yogurt jars. The instructions that came with the maker didn't say you had to- I was going to " just in case " . My son started wheezing while we hung around the goat farm this morning. I hope that is not an indicator of how he will react to the yogurt! Janet, mom to Cody- SCD since 4-17-06 > > > I'm here! > > Bring the raw goat milk up to 180 degrees, you'll be fine.
