Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas day. Ours was awesome. We celebrated

with my mom, stepdad, sis, brother-in-law, nephew, niece, my daughter and her

fiance on Christmas Eve afternoon. Christmas day, we had my daughter and fiance

arrive at about 9:30 a.m. Bud's daughter got here at about 10:30 a.m. We did

our Christmas at home and then headed to my dad and stepmother's house at noon.

I have a brother, sister, and three step-brothers. When everyone is together at

my Dad's there are 15 adults (over 19) and 8 kids ranging from a newborn to 12

years old. My brother and two of my stepbrother's live away, so they are rarely

able to be with us. So we had only 12 adults and 3 kids. All of the adults

(except my dad and stepmom) played dirty santa this year and we had a blast.

This works so much better than trying to buy for everyone. My daughter, her

fiance, and my stepdaughter felt that since they are older they should buy for

all the aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. There are just too many of this, so we

decided from now on all adults (18 and over) will buy one gift and we will play

dirty santa. We allowed the kids to take turns drawing our names from a cup so

even the kids enjoyed watching us play. It was so much fun and everyone ended

up with a nice gift in the $20-$25 range instead of numerous smaller gifts that

you really didn't need. We have decided the dirty santa will definitely be a

tradition from now on.

After celebrating at my dad's, we went by Bud's sister's house for a bit. Two

of Bud's cousins came by and that was nice as we had not seen one of them in

many years. We left for home around 10:45 p.m. Around 11 p.m., we get a call

from my daughter on Bud's cell phone saying " Where are you guys? We were really

getting worried. " Bud told her we were about 20 minutes from home. He said, " I

should have told her, now you know how we felt when you were a teen and didn't

let us know where you were or you were late checking in. " Pretty funny that we

were 'in trouble' with my 21 year old daughter and her fiance for worrying them

and not checking in!

Hope everyone else had a great day as well. Unfortunately, my great day came to

a shreeching halt just after midnight but at least Christmas day was great!
