Guest guest
Here is my take on this place...I loved it!! I'm very pleased that I got to experience this location! The nurses were wonderful, kind, and caring. There were only 4 patients that stayed overnight the same night I did (3 of them were MGB'ers). The rooms are spacious and decorated nice, and come with a huge queen-sized hospital bed. Everyone I came in contact with (IV nurse, anesthesiologist, etc) were kind and did their job well. This morning before I left the OR nurse sat down and talked with me. I didn't know who she was at first since I couldn't see when I walked into the OR (I'm blind as a bat without my glasses) and then of course I went to " sleep " right away. She was a real sweetheart and we had a very nice chat. There was a nice waiting area for the friend/family member of the patient. They also serve a dinner for that person that is catered in from a local restaurant. (my friend) said the dinner was great. As for my surgery...it took 25 minutes and the best news of all was that my liver looked good! I was relieved to hear that!! I'm am still feeling well. I took a 2 hour nap today and just puttered around. We went to a movie tonight (Autumn in New York with Gere), and I'm still up and not feeling tired at all. I haven't experienced any nauseousness at all. That was another big worry of mine. I am still wearing the patch, and although I was very thirsty yesterday and today, it wasn't anything that couldn't be tolerated. The gas is still trying to work itself out, but that is tolerable as well. I have not been hungry at all, but have eaten some go-gurt (diluted with some water and citrucel added), and tonight I had some broth. I'm only eating to get the supplements in and because I probably should be eating something. I would be happy to answer any questions that anyone might have about the Surgical Center or my surgery experience. Tricia from IL Post-op MGB 8/10 Definitely a thumbs-up experience for me!
