Guest guest
My DAN recommended a medicine called Gastrocrom, I think that is what it is. It is supposed to help heal a leaky gut. It is antioxidant based. I know nothing about it and don't know if it is SCD legal. Anyone used it? I did get it from my pharmacy and it is sitting on my shelf. Any benefits/cautions, etc? Thanks! Guest guest
Gastrocrom is a mast cell inhibitor. (Mast cells produce histamine, causing allergic reactions.) You can read more about what it does specifically by typing " Gastrocrom " into Google. The last time I looked at the ingredients, it was fine for SCD. But I haven't looked in a while. So, if you have the ingredients handy, you can post them and we can tell you if it's okay for SCD. By taking Gastrocrom before eating, it is supposed to block the production of histamine by inhibiting mast cell production. This should work to help prevent the body from forming antibodies to new foods. The medicine is supposed to be helpful for those who have a tendency to have many IgE allergies. Taking it faithfully should help reduce the number of new foods a person becomes allergic to. But do consider looking it up on Google to read more details about it.
