Guest guest
Joe, We use a mechanical percussor. We bought it from Grandma Bev, insurance would not pay for it. It was around $400. We love it, because its lots easier on us that manual cpt. But... we have no knowledge of whether it does a better job that manual cpt or not, as JC does not cough or produce sputum yet. Angie P. (ma to JC, 3yo, wcf) percussor Does anyone use a mechanical percussor? What are the pros and cons? Any info on them would be appreciated. Guest guest
DEAR JOE, We used that manual precursor for our ERIN for 16 years, too. Then got the vest. They both do a good job, especially if their isn't much lung involment, at least that we saw. BUT.....the vest is the final " best " as far as compliance . keeping lungs clear. it is a great tool . They can watch TV . do homework, play games, wee ones can color, play with hand toys, etc. & YOU aren't worn out . The Vest Company will bring it to you.......they work on getting the payment..NOT TO WORRY FOR YOU......,MOST insurance co.'s will pay,- as it helps keep CFer out of the hospital , etc. The doc MUST prescribe tho . If he will ---DO IT...........you will LOVE it -----either right away ...or shortly after. Some take a while to get friendly to it. We all wore it & had such a great time with it ,-ERIN really says now , she forgets she is doing a treatment . Good luck in whatever you choose. LOVE & HUGS, grandmoMBEV Re: percussor Joe, We use a mechanical percussor. We bought it from Grandma Bev, insurance would not pay for it. It was around $400.
