Guest guest
Some STARBand orthos (maybe Hanger and others too, but I can't remember for sure) will say to just wear it at night for the last two weeks, sort of like a weening off, see what little more we can get at night, type thing. Not all orthos do it, Cranial Tech stops treatment cold turkey, and most others do too. It shouldn't happen until the very end of treatment though. Not sure what kind of band it was but they were from Ottawa or Quebec, so i am assuming the grandkid lived there too. >
Guest guest
We have a Hanger band. Our son is now 7 months old and has been in it 6 weeks. We have seen great progress and may have as little as 4 weeks left. We were told that we could ween him off of it by cutting back a few hours every day and then just wear it at night for a bit and be done. The concern was that alot of kids in the helmets aren't used to bumping their head, etc without the helmet. Our son tosses and bangs toys and hits himself in the head and doesn't even notice it with the helmet on. He bumped his head the other night when it was off (not hard either) and cried like crazy. Our son mainly sleeps on his tummy anymore and when we told them that they said wearing it at night during the weening process might not be needed if he continues that. The office we go to has a good deal of experience, so I trust them. Could just be a different medical opinion. Definetly something that should only be done at the end of treatment in my opinion.
