Guest guest
Have any of you found that rotating foods to prevent new intolerances is necessary on SCD? My son is doing BEAUTIFULLY (we started July 4th), but I am worried because when we removed IgG + foods a year & a half ago, he did really well for a few months, & then (leaky gut?) he developed new intolerances, & I felt like we were back at square one. His intolerances show up as violence, aggression, etc. rather than gastro symptoms, and I definitely don't want a return to that! Thanks so much,
Guest guest
Is food rotation absolutly necessary, My son has such limited diet and we have just been doing this for a bit over 3 weeks, for the first time in his life he's eating burger and chicken patties. Is it something I need to think about, he eats 2 eggs a day(again for the very first time in his life, I added some steamed spinach and carrots and made him omlets for th past two days, he has 2.5 bananas a day, a 1 peara day, cooked peach and cooked apple popsicles, Monster cookies minus the raisin and carrot muffin, very little gelatin and some honey candies on a daily basis. I don't have enough food to rotate. He's always hungry, but he's feeling a lot better, we were in the ER every other day before the diet and he cried and tantrumed and was very self injurious but he's doing ALOT better since we started the diet and I don't want to rock the boat, any suggestions? Guest guest
Food rotation is not part of SCD. Some families choose to do it because of food sensitivities. You don't have to. I'm glad to hear he's doing better. Guest guest
> Is food rotation absolutly necessary, > Sara Since he's been on the diet three weeks you can be adding new foods instead of rotaion. Rotation isn't mentioned in BTVC as necessary. Carol F. Celiac, MCS, Latex Allergy, EMS SCD 6 years
Guest guest
Sara, good fats give us a full feeling. Can you drizzle olive oil on his food, or cook anything in olive oil? How about coconut oil mixed into things or spread on cooked veggies? You could cook his eggs in it. Maybe you could try and incorporate these in other ways also.
