Guest guest
SCD will not get rid of c.difficile. You have to do the medication. Someone mentioned a natural remedy here recently... you might want to search the archives for the past two weeks or so. I just know SCD alone will not do it. Patti Anyone have a kiddo with clostridia overgrowth? Curious to know if there is anyone here who has a child with the C- diff bacteria. My daughter's OAT indicated byproducts of the Clostridia in her urine. Therefore indicating the bacteria and leaky gut. Has SCD been helpful? I have heard that it may not be. If not what has? Guest guest
C. diff is one bacteria that can't be starved out by diet. Rhonda Anyone have a kiddo with clostridia overgrowth? Guest guest
Jen, Patti is correct. I have had C. Difficile three times and Rx meds are the only way to get rid of it. That being said, C. Diff is notorious for returning (hence three times). Grapefruit Seed Extract is a wonderful way to prevent it from coming again. I have been on GSE for a long time now. I have been tested several times for C. Diff because I have had ABs over the years ( and ABs set C. Diff off) and I have been negative every time. I use Citricidal and you can get it in drops. Here in Canada they sell it at some of the health food stores. I buy mine from my ND. Charlene UC 8 years SCD almost years SCD will not get rid of c.difficile. You have to do the medication. Guest guest
Yes, my son's OAT test results were positive for clostridia overgrowth. We gave him metronidazole followed by sporonox along with activated charcol. Not sure we got rid of it completely. His bowels are still runny. We did another OAT test and will have the results this week with his DAN. It's been very frustrating especially since he's been SCD for 26 months. I feel like we're back to square one. Best of luck, > > C. diff is one bacteria that can't be starved out by diet. > Rhonda > Anyone have a kiddo with clostridia > overgrowth? > > > Curious to know if there is anyone here who has a child with > the C- > diff bacteria. Guest guest
How was your son's good bacteria levels? On my daughter's stool analysis she had none. When you gave the antibiotic did you use probiotics at the same time? Is it possible for the clostridia to grow back? I am thinking that it could form because of the lack of good bacteria and digestive problems occuring/lack of good digestion, etc. It just seems that it would be hard to eradicate? Anyway, just thinking out loud. Would love to hear the results. Not sure what to do??? We seem to hit a wall with the gut and I can't help but thinking it is due to this bacteria!
