We really need to stick to discussion of SCD here. Sorry....

There are other lists and resources for candida diets, but you'll have to

compare the two different diets yourself, if you're undecided about which one to

go on.

This list is just too big and we can't let the discussion branch off into

off-topic stuff that much.

SCD vs Candida diet

What is the difference between SCD & candida diets? Has SCD been more

effective?

I've read about kiddos who did not respond to all the antifungals very

well (mine is one of them) but did extremely well following a candida

diet.

Thx again,

Michele

From my understanding, a candida diet is very similar to a gf diet. We

spent about two weeks on a candida diet before beginning scd because the

naturopathic doctor that we saw didn't know about scd. I really can't say

if it help iel yeast issues at all because we found scd about a week

after starting the candida diet. It took me about a week to extensively

research it, and then we switched because it just made so much more sense

scientificly. What may have been accomplished for us in spending two weeks

with the candida diet was that it probably helped to ween iel from his

life of lots of starches. We were doing lots of rice products, but most of

the other grains were eliminated immediately. Unofrtunately, we didn't have

iel tested immediately before starting scd, but the naturopathic

doctor did test him for yeast overgrowth when she encouraged the candida

diet. We just got lab results back from our dan doctor, and his results

shown no signs of yeast or fungus disbiosis. We were really happy to see

that scd is paying off in that way. That's about all I can say of the

difference between candida and scd. Hope it helps.

Sorry Michele. but discussions and advertising of alternative diets,

that are not recommended, or other subjects that are not part of the science and

practices of SCD are not allowed on the list. We are here to support SCD not to

debate or

compare it with other diets. There may be other lists where it is possible to do

this.
