People still seem to amaze me you know. i don't thinl I could

count how many people see my little Colgan and stare because of this

tube.

What is wrong with him? I think about 100 people asked me this today in

an hour. By the time the last few asked I had had it and just started

saying " nothing he just likes tape on his face "

I actually had one person ask me if he was dying. What to say

to that but no not right now and hopefully not any time soon and turn

around and walk the other way.

insensitive and frustrating.

Ashauna,

I am floored by some people's insensitivity. Next time if someone asks you that

just say, " NO, but you must want to " for the ones who want to know " what's

wrong " use it as a chance to raise awareness. Tell them " he has CF and uses

more calories than he can eat. He needs the tube for supplemental feedings. "

Keep it simple but tell them. It is better if they ask than just stare at him.

I know it does get tiring just repeating the same thing over and over.

Hear hear! Very good advice . :-) My favorite thing to say to people

who asked if Patti would die was to look at them and say very matter of factly,

" Yes, every one does you know. " It always floored them and the expressions on

their faces were funny and priceless beyond compare.

Ashauna; yest, if some people have nothing to think about than some

little kid's Mic-key button, then THEY are the ones who are dying--men

tally, emotionally and personally!
