Ugh! We've been SCD for a month and (3yrs. HFA) had an

allergic reaction. We don't know what it was that caused the reaction

but had blood work drawn for almonds. I think that we were over doing

the baked goods (pancakes for breakfast then a muffin or two

throughout the day.) Also, his stool just wasn't changing much. We're

back on the intro. (day 2) and are making some changes this time

through. We've decided not to do farmer's cheese or yogurt - at least

the first week. We were not casein free before, but just want to

tread lightly here. Obviously, we are not doing the almond flour

baked goods at least until we get results back - and then SLOWLY if

he's not allergic. So my question is this...it seems like nuts are a

pretty big part of having a balanced diet on SCD. In other people's

experience, could he be having a reaction to just the almonds, and

other nuts might be o.k.? Is it possible to eat a healthy balanced

diet if it turns out that he is allergic to nuts? He got red

splotches all over his body (no breathing issues) is this definitely

a " real " allergic reaction? Also, we've been giving Benedril (over

the counter - alcohol & sugar free) and Alavert (over the counter -

fruit flavored syrup) Any experience with these. If one or both are

illegal should we stick with the intro for a few more days? I was

planning to introduce applesauce, then bananna, then green beans (in

that order one a day) but will hold off if we need to " get clean "

from his meds. Thanks in advance for your advice...you have all been

so supportive through this very difficult start. My computer has been

down for about 2 weeks and I've missed staying in touch:)

Leah - SCD 1 1/2 months, back on intro.
