,

I also have anemia (a form of iron deficiency) and I have to take an

iron supplement daily.

You can make up some of the iron by eating liver and liverworst as they

are rich with iron (personally I can't stand liver - Yuck. I'll stick to

the supplement). However, I'm not sure how liver would affect the

pancreas, so you'll have to try it to find out. My mom used to have

anemia and that's how she got over it was to eat lots of liver. As for

other iron rich foods, I haven't a clue. If you find any, let me know too.

Judy,

thanks for the info on what foods carry a lot of iron.. I can eat nuts,

but only on good days and only if I limit them to a half a handful at a

time. I love nuts.

Hello ,

I have had problems with low iron and low ferritin (iron storage) for years.

I also do not eat red meat, but you can increase your iron intake, eating

dark green vegs and beans.

Iron pills did not work for me due digestive troubles. I had to use IV iron

infusion and shots. It was a little bit painful but worked very well.

All the best,

Liane

Hi All,

Hope everyone is well....Quick question...doctor just informed me

that I am iron deficient and has prescribed 300mg of an iron

suppliment. Just wondering if any of you have this problem. I am

assuming that it is because I am unable to eat red meat. Does anyone

have any ideas where I can make up for iron in my diet??

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Warmest wishes
