Guest guest
To all this is where I got the age five from. I also confused this with what KIki's doctor ( Kucera M.D. DAN!) said to us about after the age of five that brain intergration is complete. That these kids are lucky if they recieve help early. That many intolerances/allergies do vanish when the leaky gut heals with strict SCDiet. Because the large proteins are no logner going through undigested. I am sorry that my prior post said " Beach Island " ...I meant " long Island list " . This is not to suggest that those who are needed intervention stop, it is just showing that some can heal with SCD only. Antoinette (SCD 2/06) This is a message from Mimi: " There is a lot of hope. > Did you ever read about the LongIsland list? It was the first SCD list for the adults with GI problems. It was run by Turet and she was tough!! 100% compliance or you would be kicked out of the list. No freedom of speech or prepared foods....no arguing...just tough love... > > Before the ASD/SCD movement began, parents of ASD children would join the Long Island list because there was no special list for them. > > We once tried to track down the results of the ASD children on that tough list. ALL the children had recovered from ASD! They were > young(under 5). There was one exception and that was a 6 year old from UK. Mother reported that he would eat the illegal foods that his older sisters had brought home. He had a knack for finding it,even when it was hidden. > > Unfortunately,RT is no longer running that list and it is less tough today. > These kids did not do the DAN protocol. Just fanatical SCD and yogurt. The yogurt played an important role. Most of them did not even receive intensive early intervention such as ABA. I think every ASD child deserves a good program but these kids did not. That was a few years ago, when these programs were less available.
