Guest guest
Hi all, My two sons, ASD, have been on SCD for 12 1/2 weeks now. My older son has shown no benefits, in any way, from SCD. He has never had digestive issues, so that wasn't what we were looking for. But, no discernible change in behavior, language, etc. from SCD. My younger son, who has always had GI issues, has had no behavior or language impact from SCD. However, his GI issues have gotten *worse* -- he has always had on-and-off loose stools, but since he started SCD he has had almost daily loose stools. On Saturday I put him back on the intro diet, and he has been on it strictly for the last six days. Aside from one day, when he had a slightly firm stool (but full of carrot chunks, which you guys advised me about), he has had yucky greenish-black pudding-like stools, often with some sandy texture in them. I've had the doctor do a fecal sample to see if there's a bacterial or viral thing going on. If that comes back negative, I just don't know what to do. If the SCD, especially the intro diet, gives him loose stools, I just don't know where to go with this. So, bottom line is, it doesn't appear to be working for my family so far. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Marina
