The only dairy free yogurt starter is ProGurt from GI ProHealth. http://www.giprohealth.com There is a small amount of cow's milk in the Yogourmet starter (which is what Lucy sells). So, it would not be suitable for making dairy-free nut yogurt. Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/
Guest guest
Yes, we are presently dairy free. I want to start with nut yogurt and then I will be trying goat yogurt in a few months once our systems have healed a little more. I was going to order the Yogourmet maker from Lucy's Kitchen along with several boxes of the Yogourmet yogurt starter. I guess I'll try the ProGurt starter instead - hope it's as potent/effective. Guest guest
Hi Kim! i could be wrong, but i'm wondering if you are Jordan's mom from Achimota?? If you are, then we really need to meet! [officially, i mean] The Progurt starter is excellent. The Canadian distributor is Haber's Pharmacy in Toronto. http://www.haberspharmacy.supersites.ca/naturopathicmedicine/ I have a Yogourmet and i am trying to recall if i got it here in Barrie, or if i ordered from the company [in montreal.] http://www.lyo-san.ca/english/index.htmlMany of the local health food stores carry it, all for about the same price. You don't want to order it from Lucy's as you will be hit with HUGE duty and customs fees.....i found out the hard way with some other items. Hope this helps, and if you are not the Kim i think you are, i apologize! If you are in canada though, the info is still good. Cindy, IBS, SCD 1 year this week! Wow, great to meet another biomed Mom so close to home - especially one that is doing SCD!! We definitely have to meet and chat. Thanks so much for the tips about Haber's and Spectrum Supplements. Didn't think to check if they had the Yogourmet maker. Please feel free to contact me off list: kimandglen.quinn@.... Look forward to meeting you.
