Guest guest
> Hi y'all, > > Kimber's good news reminded me. In the midst of everything else I may be opening a can of worms but, this is driving me nuts !! Why lawyers?...what daily activity forms?....what did I miss on the SS applictions?....Ever since I entered the message boards I keep reading about all these problems with the SS application process... I was nudged into doing it by the hospital I was in for my first sutgery and my GP....I was going to keep trying to work (which wasn't working out to well)....submitted all the paperwork, went up to the SS office for a couple of interviews, granted one time I was having me lunch via portable TPN pump, but, other than that it sailed through and I got retro pay (about 6 months) from when I started the application process. I feel really bad for all of you with a legitimate disease, pancreatitis is kinda hard to fake, that are having such a bureaucratic nightmare. If I or my wife can answer any questions,we'll be glad to try. She's kinda my backup memory and it works better than mine most of the time. Feel free to email direct if you want, one of us will get back to you that way. Supportive Best Wishes, Knox
Guest guest
you are really lucky to have had no problems with getting your social security disability. About 90% of all claims are denied in the inital claim and about 85 % for the initial appeal. The Daily Activities Questionaire was a huge form where we had to describe exactly what we did every day, how is it different from before our illness, etc. etc. But then, I'm in CA and I think they just love lots of forms out here. Guest guest
> > you are really lucky to have had no problems with getting your social > security disability. . Kimber, Thanx for your reply. I didn't realize the percentages were that high !! As far as the daily activity log goes, my lovely wife is telling me all about the forms I filled out. When I was first diagnosed and had surgery I was pretty heavily medicated and there's apparently a few details I forgot.:-| Talk about the importance of " The Caregiver " /back up memory/nurse/scheduler/ears. We both thank our lucky stars whenever we hear the horror stories that legitimately ill people have getting their benefits. On a lighter note...my wife, Gaye, lived in Suisun for a few years before moving back east with me and then back here to Gridley, Ca to be closer to her folks. We drive right by you on our way to SFO to see my Whipple surgeon at CPMC. My/our offer is stll open,to try and provide anyone help with the process of dealing with the paperwork no matter how small the question might be. It might just be some of the little ones that count the heaviest. Best Wishes, and Gaye Knox
Guest guest
, I know how you can forget things like that when you are heavily medicated. I usually don't remember much about the first few days of my hospitalization as that is when I'm taking the most pain medication. It is very important to have a caregiver . Mine is my mother and I don't know what I would do without her. Probably go crazy. We are starting to have more and more people in this area as time goes by. Maybe at some point we could meet each other at location that is central to all of us. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
