Guest guest
Ginny, Spousal income is a determining factor if Henry were applying for Social Security supplemental income, but not Social Security Disability Income, as far as I am aware. They are two separate things, and usually the applicant is considered for the supplemental income when he or she applies for SS Disability. I believe the applicant has to meet all the same previous work requirements as they do for disability, but I'm not sure. At the time I filled out my initial application for Social Security Disability, they sent me an additional form for the Social Security Supplemental Income, too. My husband's income was considered on this application, and his income exceeded the maximum household amount that would have made me eligible. His income as a pilot, though, far exceeds yours. So this MAY be something that Henry would be eligible for. It certainly wouldn't hurt for you to find out. There is a website on the internet that you can get all this information from. If you can't find it by doing a search on Google for " Social Security Administration " , let me know, and I will send you the link. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
