But, generally the application for SSDI is based upon the past record of the applicant and their earnings. Without earnings paid to and recorded by the SSA there might not well be any benefit possible so other resources must be considered. I don't think that your income has anything to do with it because when they reviewed my case they never asked if I had income from my husband to determin my benefits. Good luck.
