Guest guest
After reading Mark's recent posts...I thought I would " report in " , as I have been silent for awhile. After being on an 8-day boat haul (our business) the evening my family and I returned home...I had what I thought was the absolute WORST pancreatitis attack ever. Turned out to be a calcified gallbladder. Neat, huh. (I didn't know gallbladders calcified.) It was removed within 5 hours of hitting the ER...they were prepping me for surgery and I asked the nurse what she was doing.... " getting you ready " she said. " for what? " , I asked. " for surgery " , she answered. " WHAT surgery? " , I asked. " They're gonna remove your gallbladder " , she said. " My gallbladder? " , I questioned....then " who's THEY? " . Well, she prompty called a halt to the preparations and called my surgeon from the OR...he was already waiting for me. I met him....seemed a nice guy....told me I " didn't have any options " ....yada yada yada....and the rest is table-time. After surgery he said my pancreas was behaving beautifully and " life would be good without a gallbladder " .....so , I guess I will see. I have had a three episodes of bad pain since surgery.....called him at 5 AM on a Sunday to ask how I was having gallbladder attacks if HE had my gallbladder.....He said it was just still stones and sludge passing thru.... My surgery was Dec 2nd. External scars are amost gone (4 - 2inch little ones), but internal soreness is something else~ I AM Fair, Fat, Female, and 42........the fertile part is not happenin'.....but I was told by one of my dr.s that if I were to absolutely loose as much weight as my body would tolerate and still maintain health....my quality of life would be vastly improved. (I am 5'6 " and 239lbs.) I have been " this " size for 10 years.......anyone have any ideas? I have to keep the pancreas happy...however, I almost feel as though I had my stomach stapled since gallbladder surgery......very little room, it seems........(LOL) Just catching up a little~ Hope everyone has a nice New Years holiday.
