Well.....sounds like pancreatitis to me, but what do I know..lol....anyway, you

need to get those tryglycerieds under control with some lipid reducing

drugs...or you will start to have heart problems. with your tryglycerides so

high, it can cause pancreatitis also. You will probably notice a big difference

in your flare-ups once you get your tryglycerides down.

I hope this finds you and yours well

Ämne: Back again and I hope someone can help me

Okay boy do I have a story for you but I am hoping someone can give

me some helpful suggestions or advice as to what I should do next.

This has been ongoing since Tuesday night.

Okay Tuesday night I go to the ER with chest pain but no other

problems and my EKG was normal and I am not sure what the blood work

was so they sent me home. Now it is Wednesday Morning and the chest

pain is getting worse so I cal my heart doctor and the nurse says to

go to the ER!!!! SO, I do and this time they see something in the

blood work they don't like so they admit me. Not sure what they saw

but correct me if I am wrong here but isn't it true that some of

these blood tests for heart and pancreas can be the same.

Anyways, on Thursday they tried to do n ultrasound for a stress

test but my veins were too bad so on Friday they did a nuclear

stress test and it was negative for heart problems so they sent me

home. However my triglycerides were super high like 549.

So I get home around 8pm Friday and then around 2am Saturday, I get

up to go to the bathroom and I am having chest pain and nausea and

dizziness so I call my primary care doctor and the on call for him ,

which is also the PA , I see everytime I go there tells me to go back

to the ER. Okay so I go back and here is where it gets interesting

because some of the blood tests were abnormal. And from what I

looked up on the wed it says could be a heart attack, pancreatitis.

Oh, and along with that even though I tell them I don't use drugs

they do a drug screen. I am assuming they see all the bruises and

needle marks from my stay in the hospital which I was honest about

and they jump to conclusions. Anyways here are the abnormal ones:

Lipase -244(norm is 0-243

LDH- forgot the exact number and hubby has it because he was talking

to a GI doctor who goes to our church.

WBC- was high

RBCS from urinalysis -12 ( normal is 0.0 to 2.0.

I forgot some of the others but I do know they probably should have

admiitted me instead of sending me home. Oh, then he tells me to

take advil even though I am allergic to Ibuprofen sso I got the

generic form of alieve instead. Now at this point I thought it would

be over with. But Saturday afternoon around 2:30 I am having really

bad chest pain, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and dizziness so I

call the on call again and he says go back to the ER and tell them I

said you should be admitted. So I go back by ambulance cuz this was

the only way I could get there this time and I tell the doctor there

what my PCP said and he instead implies I am a nut case, that I love

hospitals and that I must have put my finger down my throat and made

myself vomit.

Now, they prescibed Ultram which would be fine but I have to be very

careful with it cuz it says if you have a severe allergic to codeine

do not take. Well, I am allergic to codeine but it has never been

severe so I figure I am safe and it has been okay so far. So they

dischare me with the instructions to come back if it persists or gets

worse and I am thinking to myself why you would probably admit me to

the psych ward.

So that is my story and if anyone has any suggestions I would

appreciate it.

I also have GERD and a hiatal hernia and I am going to try and see

either my surgeon or my PCP.

Margie,

Why does your doctor not contact the ER and have them admit you, or

he do a direct admit?..would save so much going back and forth and

stress on your end...

I too have been sent home many times with them saying your enzymes

are normal...yet when I got my medical records, my Lipase were

always high..600 - 800 is not normal.

Is there another hospital you can go to when necessary?
