Guest guest
NON STICK PANS being a health concern? This is very interesting. I just bought a new waffle iron. I swear I can taste the chemical coming off on to our waffles! What the heck do we do? I was rather skeptic of it, and now after seeing this I wanted to know more. Do I use the darn thing??? Could someone guide us her at Pecan Bread, better to what has already been said about this? It would be very helpful. Like Carol, our family is truly sensitive to much of the world! lol...but not so funny! Maybe this is why we are so " nutso " .... Guest guest
Pecanbread is about the diet. Be informed. Make your own decision about raw milk, organic food, cookware etc. I had to dive away my teflon as I had a chemical reaction to it. I am in a minority of the genral population but now Health Canada is obviously concerned > NON STICK PANS being a health concern? This is very interesting. I > just bought a new waffle iron. Guest guest
Antoinette- I know they must have a cast iron waffle iron, my Grandpa uses one, I am sure a cast iron company still makes them...... Guest guest
Non stick pans are HORRIBLE for you! The chemicals that burn off during cooking are plain bad! One of the questions my Daughters DAN Dr. asked is if we had any of these. > > NON STICK PANS being a health concern? This is very interesting. I > just bought a new waffle iron. I will look into this teflon pan, plastic thing, alluminum foil thing.... It makes me so angry. We just got new pans prior to SCD! No thanks to the Celiac Sprue associaiton convinced us that our problem was about GLUTEN leaching out of our old pans! " Cross contamination with gluten " kept us sick....so they thought! They obviously did not know what Elaine and Dr. Haas knew! So I got rid of my old cast irons! And then I realized the POTATO MADE ME SICK! My GOD who are we to believe! I am truly frustrated at this point. I know Now THAT it is about STARCH and not gluten...but now I have new pans AND No money! I gave away everything, now I can kick myself! BY THE WAY Why is the microwave bad? Antoinette and Family of five (SCD 2/06/ celiac, add, adhd, autism, and more)
Guest guest
Dear Carol, I am not angry, I am sad. I feel like crying. I am releived to learn about SCDiet...but we all could feel better. Kiki is such a concern of mine. I do not want her to suffer like I have. No thanks to our doctors. You are lucky to not be considered a nut case. If it was thanks to them I wouldn't even know I have celiac disease. Thankfuly I had one who would listen and comfirmed my suspisions in all of us, by doing biopsy of our intestines when all the blood work came back negative. So I guess it isn't all that bad...we are confirmed nuts now! lol! I am just tired to day and do not feel well. This toxic world is a sad, sad, place. I will research into becoming more " fanatical " ...I am sick of bieng sick.
