For someone as young as Cyrus to have to go through all of this breaks my heart. You know you are both in my prayers and YES, miracles DO happen. YOu know we are all here for you whenever you need us. Give Cyrus a hug for me and let him know we are all praying for him. I believe Cyrus turned 23 this month. I don't know how long he has had RP but I know he was here before me and that would have made him 20. (I think) lol From what I remember (again please correct me, Gail you maybe could give the details later) Cyrus RP started in throat like a bad cold (almost like whooping cough). He had trouble breathing like allergies. His airways continued to close to the size of a straw before they knew it was RP. Was I even close Gail??? Gail has given us so much information. Cyrus surgery went well then about one hour after the surgery Cyrus developed some problems breathing on his own he is now on the Ventilator Machine until he can breath on his own they can't put the tract back in they will be slowly weaning him off the machine and trying to stabilize him once that is done he can come home. Unfortunately, his ENT and Pulmonary doctors have found that Cyrus will have the tract for the rest of his life because of this disease. But we are a spiritual family I now that God can still perform those miracles we are all looking for. They are keeping Cyrus sleep with medications right now until he can breath on his own.
