I had first hand experience with this today. My eye doc worked me into his schedule as my eye symptoms have gotten worse. He did not know of my diagnosis since my last regular appt with him was before that. He's never seen a case of RP, but studied it in med school (at least he had heard of it!). After a thorough exam, during which he had a zillion questions, the only thing he told me was I wasn't in immediate danger of losing my vision. But that was all I needed to hear at that moment. He asked if I had been on the internet to find out if there are any specialists in the country that can be contacted. Ha also said it was a good thing I am on the Cytoxan. He will be calling me tomorrow after he talks to my Rhuem about the MRI and everything else. I'll let you know what happens, but I had to be amazed and reply when I read this. It is one of the echos of my thoughts right now. Thanks for sharing it with us. Carol G
