That is probably about 2 hours or so from Milwaukee. I hope you make it!! Deb in IL

There is a huge difference between the RNY and the MGB. From a surgical standpoint, the RNY has two places that the intestine must be rejoined, giving you two possible places to develop leaks and complications, whereas the MGB has only one. The primary differences otherwise between the MGB and RNY are that the MGB has a much higher safety record, a much shorter operating time (less time in anesthesia -- 1/2 hour versus 4-7 hours), 1 day recovery time versus 2-8 weeks, more effective weight loss, it's easily reversible if you lose too much weight (the RNY is not), and you have a bigger stomach afterwards so you can still eat pretty normally, instead of having a 1-3 oz. pouch that makes you have to eat like a bird for the rest of your life. Do a search on the web for " Roux en Y " and " RNY " and you will find a lot of info about it. Then read http://www.clos.net, the MGB official website, for info on the MGB. If you want to see some pictures of what the MGB will do to you versus what the other procedures are like, try my website at http://www.fourlane.com/mgb/whymgb.htm Kind regards, > > This message is from the Mini-Gastric Bypass Mailing List at Onelist.com > Please visit our web site at http://clos.net > Get the Patient Manual at http://clos.net/get_patient_manual.htm > > To Unsubscribe Send and Email to: MiniGastricBypass-unsubscribe (AT) egroups (DOT) com
