Guest guest
My son is 4 months old and has torticollis and plagio. We've been going to pt for about 1.5 months now and are seeing a specialist tomorrow to see if he needs banding. Any advice as to what to expect or any questions I should ask? Thanks! I'm really nervous and anxious about this appt....
Guest guest
Besides looking through the files section here, http://www.plagiocephaly.info/ is an excellent site. It's bit clunky to navigate but there's excellent information there including questions you may want to ask the doctor. Basically your son's head will be measured and pictures and/or a scan will be taken. You will then know exactly where and how his head is misshapen, and then given options for treatment. It's a bit overwhelming, but painless. If you decide to band they may cast his head then (not necessary if they did a 3D scan) and he'll be in his helmet in roughly two weeks. Casting is far less scary then it sounds. My daughter went through it and start to finish it took less than 10 minutes. Good luck today!
