I have heard, and believe that swimming is the best for CF, its wonderful

exercise for the lungs. My daughter's problem is she is 13 --she swims and as a

result coughs and has a lot to bring up....which she won't spit out - but

swallows.

My 10 yr. son who usually doesn't produce anything does after swimming which

is great! Except boys don't care where they spit and one time he spit on this

really nice man's arm!!!!!!!!!!!

Coughing after swimming is good. To me it means that they are moving stuff

around and when they bring it up its great - at least its getting out. Kids

and other people are like YUCK...........its tough.

Rosemary in NY with 3 children (12, 10 and 6)

with CF. I have a dog named TOBI and

coined the phrase " BREATHE DAMMIT "

Thank you to everyone who responded to the pool question. Channa is greatful

for the positive response, as the party is for the cutest boy in class! lol.

I noticed everyone seems to see results from swimming as far as bringing the

junk up. Channa did cough alot the night of, but didn't bring up the junk

until about two days later. She does not normally bring anything up unless it

is the sign of an infection. With that she saw the Pulmonologist the day she

started producing and she started her on Augmentin. Maybe we jumped the gun?

Just when you think you've got a handle on things!
