Guest guest
Hey everyone. I just got home from Duke. Dr. Pappas was great even though I'm a terribly grumpy patient. I was in so much pain because I was out of pain medications, and was crying most of the time. But he put at ease and said I'm not ready for his surgery yet. He called my family " pancreas are us " because of the history. He scheduled an ERCP for next Tuesday. I'll have the procedure done in the morning and stay in Raleigh overnight. That way I'm close to a hospital. Lo and behold, when I was leaving Duke, my GI doctor, who has dragged his feet for 2 weeks called us on the cell. He said, " Dr. Pappas is a top-notch surgeon, but I don't think you're ready for him yet. I want you to have the EUS (internal ultrasound) first, and my collegue here does them. I'll have him call you this week. " I wanted to say, " Well hell, if he's your collegue, and in such close proximity, why did it take two weeks to set this up, " as I sit languishing in pain. I didn't though I said, " Well I know you're busy so I took matters into my own hands. And by the way, Dr. Pappas refilled my pain medication for me. " So that's my story for the day. I'm going to bed because the medication hit me hard, and I'm still in pain. Tammy
