Guest guest
Kristi, I was just asking out of curiosity. Like I said JC was diagnosed at 4 months (after becoming dehydrated) and he had no digestion problems so they didn't recommend the enzymes. I was just wondering about those diagnosed by blood work etc who have not yet shown signs of digestive problems. By all means do what the doctor says to do. My doctor has told me know matter what signs or not I will start him on enzymes. I don't know whats right or not as I'm learning and no other family member has cf. Right now I'm trusting myself and my doctor. It's all I can do. Guest guest
My son is due next week. He is thought to have cf due to a probable bowel obstruction showing on the ultrasounds. We also have a two year old daughter with cf. I have been told by the doctors that we will watch his weight and wait to give him enzymes since some cfers are not pancreatic sufficent. (In our case it has occured to me that he might already be pancreatic insufficent since he has blockage.) Anyway, I would talk to the doctors about it and see if they will watch his weight in the first few weeks without enzymes (remember a lot of babies lose 10% right away regardless of cf). It would be difficult to know if he actually needed the enzymes if you start right away. Sharon, mom to Sophie 2 years old with cf > Kristi, > > I was just asking out of curiosity. Guest guest
angie I'm not sure what your asking. I had a cvs done and my son has cf. My doctor said that when he is born the first thing that wiil be different is he will start taking enzymes. I had three ulta sounds and one more to come and he has no signs of cf. But he told me it doen't always show up in the us.More than likely it won't show up. kristi > >Reply-To: cfparents >To: <cfparents > >Subject: Re: Enzymes(Kristi) >Date: Thu, 21 Aug 2003 12:33:08 -0400 > >Kristi, > >I was just asking out of curiosity.
