Guest guest
, I've taken oral Dilaudid pills and thought they worked okay, but really no different than Percocet, though they are apparently stronger. The problem with them was that they made me very sleepy and gave me absolutely awful, horrific nightmares, almost like hallucinations. These nightmares were so graphic and humanly unnatural for me, especially since I am alone so much of the time, that I told my doctor I couldn't take the pills anymore. I was actually afraid to take them when Austin was living with us and Bob was away at work because of these totally bizarre dreams. Funny thing is, they put me on a dilaudid PCA for four days while I was in the hospital in October, and I didn't have any dreams at all! I still wouldn't use it again in pill form when I'm alone. Everyone has different reactions to the same medications, though, so what I experienced with Dilaudid may not happen with you. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
When I'm having an attack in hospital, I ask for Dilaudid, as it is the only drug that helps with my pain (at least through IV), yet I have dilaudid in pill form at the house, and it doesn't seem to even touch pain. I had to take a pain pill the other day for some pain I was experiencing..first time since my surgery in January, and I had to choose between the percocet I have or the dilaudid. Sometimes I react to the percocet (something in it tends to make my muscles need stretching constantly), and have never felt this with Dilaudid, so I opted for the dilaudid. I took 4mg, and it didn't even help one bit with the pain. Eventually by 10am the next morning it went away on it's own. The percocet pill does help quite a bit with the pain I sometimes experience though. But Dilaudid is first and foremost for me when I go to hospital.
