Guest guest Posted August 5, 2003 Report Share Posted August 5, 2003 I have always heard that fresh pineapple after a meal is good since it contains natural enzymes similar to our digestive enzymes. therefore fresh pineapple is supposed to aid digestion. If the digestive system is close to normal the fruit and other foods shouldn't be in the body long enough to ferment significantly. This is what I was told, by a friend who is a dietitian/nutritionist.
