Guest guest Posted January 3, 2002 Report Share Posted January 3, 2002 When I was diagnosed it was because my ear flared. The swelling closed off my ear canal which caused external otitis. I was told by me ENT that each time you flare the eustacian tube gets smooshed & eventually it causes hearing loss. I have scar tissue on my right ear drum which they think is causing my dizzy spells. I was told to walk with a cane so I don't fall. Susiecue Gave me some web sites to check out.
