Guest guest
Hi yall, Yesterday I called my SSDI examiner to tell her that I'd gone to the interview with mental health. I told her I was curious as to why this was necessary, as I hadn't listed depression as one of my disabiling impairments. She did say that although I hadn't listed it, my records showed that I was being treated by a physician for it, so a follow up was necessary to thoroughly analyze my claims. One thing that sort of bothered me was that she told me that she hadn't seen my original application where I listed my disabiling conditions. This really makes me curious to see what she's actually been looking at. I mean, what are they working from? I do remember my attorney telling me that the system was weird, and that my records would not all be together in one place, but scattered throughout different departments and other divisions, not compiled neatly in one place with one person overseeing them. It sounds like a very backward, unorganized way of processing these applications, to not have everything for the applicant in the office of and under the supervision of one person.....but, after all, this is the federal government and our tax dollars at work, so I guess they have to make it as complex as possible, right? They have to spread it out so that it takes 10 people to do the work of 1 and as slowly as they can, if at all possible! 'Nuff said! My denial letter had also mentioned chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as one of my impairments.....which I don't have and didn't claim that I had. Apparently a mistake was made somewhere, and she did say that my attorney had notified her of that mistake and that had been removed from the records.....so I hope that whatever they're looking at, it's the right things! She said that " something " had been added to my file yesterday that she hadn't taken a look at yet. I suspect it was a fax from the physician at mental health, as I can't imagine what else they could still be looking at. Sad thing is, last I heard, neither my doctor or my surgeon had been contacted for any kind of update. I asked her if she had any idea of how much longer it would take before a determination was made and she was evasive as always, saying that it shouldn't be too much longer before the medical examiner's were finished with their portion of the review. So........I wait, and try to keep my mind off it.......yeah! Hope you are all having a good weekend. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. PAI, Intl.
