We used to try to go there every night, but sometimes I would be the only one there or Heidi who is awesome and always helped out would be the only one there...If we can get people to show up to the chat room on a regular basis, I myself would be happy to host chats and I am sure Heidi would also help as she always does...Please let me know how many people are interested in going to the chat room and what time is best for everyone and what day is the best...We stay away from weekends because to many people have things going on then..I am all ears. Mark, Chrissy, Patty and all who are interested in the chat room..... First of all, we haven't ever used the Yahoo Chat, so if you go there you won't ever find anyone there. Mark has a chat room set up at his website that we've used for a few years, and we used to have automatic reminders that were posted on the message board that showed the link to this chat room, and also showed the day and times that it was open. As interest in the chat room declined, the automatic reminder was removed from the message board. Too many times, Mark or I would be there waiting for others to join in and no one would show up. We kept to our commitment to have the room staffed for several months until finally we both gave up because of lack of interest. The membership has changed now, and I can see a need for getting it active again. I would suggest that we choose a set day or days and time to meet. Maybe we could start with 2 nights a week, preferably weekday nights, and see how it goes. Keeping the room staffed with a host is a commitment of time that should be respected by everyone, so I suggest that the time that the host has to stay be limited to only one hour or so, as it's difficult for many of us to stay seated at the computer for long periods of time. If there are people in the chat room that want to stay longer, that's fine, yet I do suggest that the host be able to sign off after an hour if he or she needs to, without anyone being offended. We used to meet at 8:30 pm Eastern time. That would be 7:30 pm for some, and 6:30 pm for those on the West coast. Unfortunately this time slot is difficult for our members in England, Austraila and Hawaii, so maybe we could set up a scheduled daytime chat time each week that would permit them to participate. Maybe Fliss, Debs and could help us by suggesting hours during the day that would work for their locations, and those members who aren't working during the day could also participate. I'd be more than happy to help with the chat room again, and Mark knows this. We had some great sessions in the past years, and I've missed it. We've had members show up there that don't actively post on the message board, and it's been fun to meet them, too. Let's find out what would work best for y'all.
