Guest guest
Debs and Kaye, While researching for references to Clonidine in relation to it helping pain, what I found was that the epidural Clonidine, is used for pain, but this drug is different than the pill form of Clonidine that I am taking. The reference I used was: http://www.rxlist.com Additionally, the pill form of Clonidine that I am taking DOES NOT have precautionary warnings about pancreatitis, nor does it have any beneficial effects for relieving pain. I am taking one that is actually an antihypertension drug, but in my case my Endo is using it to treat my night sweats only, as I don't have high blood pressure problems at all. There is another form, Clonidine/Chlorthalidone, a combination pill that's a antihypertension drug and a diuretic that DOES have a warning about pancreatitis. I found that reference at: http://www.genesishealth.com/micromedex/quickdrug/dnx0491.a spx Naturally, I was glad that I kept digging around to find this information. I didn't think my Endocrinologist would prescribe something that would be hazardous to my pancreatitis. What I did learn, though, was that there are several different forms of this drug, with different combinations and warnings, and that they're used for different purposes. Thorough research is the key to avoiding confusion. I hope this helps. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. PAI, Intl. I find it strange that when I was in hsopital for 43 days this was one of the drug eg Cloindine that they put me on. It has done nothing but help for me.
