If you have a DAN! doctor or any pro-enzyme doctor, have him write a letter or prescription. They won't argue with medical necessity from a licensed doctor. If not, write a letter yourself explaining exactly what his behavior is like without the enzymes and/or on the very limited diet he can have without them, and how easily this can be avoided by the administration of fresh enzymes. My son's school had to witness months of bad behavior before they believed me (I didn't have a DAN! doctor at the time), so I hope you and your son can avoid having to go through this. mother of Adam ( 7.9, PDD-NOS, lyme, asthma, egg allergy) >
Guest guest
I am pretty sure that if you sprinkle his enzymes into his food and then pack his food, when he opens his food, it's going to look pretty similar to vomit. The enzymes will begin to break food down on contact and if you leave the food and the enzymes mixed together for 4 hours, I don't think he'll like (or eat) the results. You can try it at home and see what happens, but I don't think it will work. I think many moms mix the enzymes into a liquid (like juice) and send the juice to drink before lunch. And of course, getting a doctor's note would make it a LOT easier. Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/
Guest guest
It's been pointed out to me that there are parents on the enzymesandautism Yahoo! list who have figured out what foods the enzymes can be mixed in and then sent to school. I would recommend that you go ask this question on that list to get a better answer. Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/
