Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Has anyone used accupuncture as an adjunct to the therapies our children receive? Shaelin has just completed a 20 day course of Augmentin for a sinus infection. He was on Zithromax in July for the same thing and within 3 days of completing the antibiotics, he is nasally congested again. He is already on Zyrtec and Rhinocort for allergies. He saw ENT 2 weeks ago and they scoped his nose but found no evidence of polyps or regrowth of the mucocele. I have made an appointment for him to be evaluated by an accupuncturist next Monday to see if that will help. They work with children and use magnets and pressure points instead of needles. They have had a lot of success in treating colds and allergies but have not specifically worked with cf. Shaelin still loves his vest and actually asks if he can use it, something he never did with CPT. We are up to 15 minutes 2x/day. The probiotics still seem to be helping with his stools also. If all continues to go well, I am going to start cutting down on his enzymes as when we increased the dose back in July, it made no difference. If anyone has had any experience with accupuncture I would love to hear about it. Jeanne (foster Mom to Shaelin, 2 1/2 wcf)
