Guest guest
Hey, Bern: I was just thinking of you, and suddenly discover a post to the MGB list from you! It's good to hear that you're doing well (despite trying to drown yourself in Carafate!). Your weight loss is so impressive! We have (another)big week coming up in Durham. I'll keep you posted. Send up good, latex-free thoughts for me. xoxo Blair MGB 8/
Guest guest
Blair, I've been thinking of you so much this week. The dress rehearsal is over, now it's time for the show! You're going to do great! When do you leave for Durham? Are your Mom and sister going again? I thought your surgery was 8/9, but I see it is 8/8. Please post as soon as you can! Some advice from your original littermate - remember to drink, drink, drink (within Dr R's guidelines). I ended up way too dry because I would forget to drink. You will be in my prayers. You have already been through the toughest emotional part - the pre-op jitters. The rest has been so much easier than I could have ever imagined. All the Best to you and this week's litters, Bern > Hey, Bern: > > I was just thinking of you, and suddenly discover a post to the MGB > list from you! > > It's good to hear that you're doing well (despite trying to drown > yourself in Carafate!). Guest guest
Hi, Bern - Thanks for the nice thoughts. Actually, my surgery is 8/9 - I'm helping set up this dinner for the preops on 8/8, and have started typing that by mistake! I will heed you advice on drinking lots and lots. I'm buying lots of little thermos jugs and thermal containers, so that I can sip little amounts of broth, water, juice, and yogurt alternately. Is this sipping action pretty much continuous? Please continue to do well - I'll keep you posted soon after my surgery. xoxo Blair
Guest guest
Hey Bern, I can't believe it, no wonder you were having problems!!!! I've been so worried, even talking to my husband about you!! I am so glad you are feeling better. Maybe that was your problem and now we can race to the finish line!!! I'm not sure about the potatoes, maybe just not thin enough?? Anyway what ever it was really through me for a loop! I haven't felt very good today, slept mostly, and that is unusual for me. Even my husband is asking questions about why I'm so tired today!! Wonders if it's cause he's at home and not at work!! Funny bunny!! I love him sooooo! Well I've taken my 2 teaspoons of carafate, guess I'll try eating in a while. Gosh I've been all day and haven't eaten!!! Wow, this is like, to good to be true!! I bet my big old fat cells are really worrying now huh!!! Hugs, Rosemary MGB 7/24/00 I've been Over-Dosing on Carafate!! > Hi everyone, > Thought I'd share this, but I am embarrased - I've been taking > 2 TABLESPOONS 4x day of carafate instead of 2 TEASPOONS 4x day as > prescribed. Guest guest
Blair, I can't speak for the others, but my sipping was pretty constant the first 7 days, now I'm more into drinking constantly. Don't know for sure it its fear or you just get use to it! But I can swallow the 2 tsp(BERN! LOL) of carafate at one time now and the first week it took about 3 sips! Does this help??
