Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My name is Roxanne Brown and I am considering the M G B .....Actually I am in the process of getting my packet together. I live in Georgia and as a results I'm sort of lost. When coming from out of town where do ya stay for the 8 days. Is there a nice motel close by. with suites so you can warm up the " soup " (clear liquids) and all that is needed? Another thing that I would like to know is........When you live out of state as a lot of us do, what kind of consultations do you have before the surgery. Were you well informed? Scared? <grin> I would appreciate any information on this subject that I could get. Sincerely, Roxanne
Guest guest
Hi Sheri, We're just about neighbors! Genz was putting together the list of North Texas folks. It would be a blast to meet in person! I filled the Rx here because I thought it would be less hassle with insurance. My Dr. wrote out the prescriptions for me. She has been wonderful support for this surgery. Bern > > Sheri, > > > > Where in Dallas do you live? There are many of us from the North > > Texas area. I live in , about 25 miles north of Dallas. Guest guest
Hi Roxanne, Many of us, maybe even most of us, are from out of town. I live in Alabama and will be having surgery on Friday August 11th. I have already been to clinic, but most people from out of town plan their clinic visit on a Tuesday the week that they will be having surgery. Although a week long stay is suggested, many people leave after just a few days. It all depends on the individual. The Patient Education Manual can be downloaded from www.clos.net. Some of the information in the manuel is outdated, as Dr. R's surgery times and complication rates improve. There are also some things that have been added or changed, such as medication that we are now to take pre-surgery to help with our recoveries. You can go back through the last month or so of posts to find these changes. Dr. R always posts them on the list when he makes changes. You will have any questions answered at the 5 hour clinic. You will also have the opportunity to meet post- ops and ask questions of them. On your clinic day, you will meet privately with Dr. Rutledge. He will address any concerns that you may have. His web site has a ton of information. You can get most of your questions answered there by reading the information that he has posted. If you have any other questions, you may want to ask them here. People on this list are both informed and helpful. Welcome to the list and good luck in your efforts to find the surgery that you feel most comfortable with. There are many types of surgeries available, and I feel that it is good to be informed about all of them. I decided on the MGB after much research. This is the surgery that I feel is right for me. Best wishes. Stormy > Hi Everyone, > > My name is Roxanne Brown and I am considering the M G B ......Actually I am in > the process of getting my packet together.
