Guest guest
I too suffer from skin rashes and have had terrible knee pain. I went to the dermatologist back last summer before I had the pump put in and the stupid Dr. told me I took too many showers, my husband and I both busted out laughing at the time I was lucky if I could get a bath or shower once every 7-10 days. I was practically bed fast at the time. He would not do the testing for HP, I still have the rash, it is just not as bad. I did have a problem with my knees swelling so bad that they took the fluid off several times and it returned the next day, now my knees have such bad crepitus (crunching sound) my husband acts like he is sprinkling salt on them and says " I like salt on my pop corn " to me it sounds like potatoe chips (crunch) any time I move, although I only have pain in them when I take the stairs. There was a time that I had to have a wheel chair and or a walker to get about, it was because of the pancreatic pain and my legs. I also had terrible swelling of the feet, they were so big I usually wear a size 8 shoe I was wearing an 10.5- 11 Atwell LPN
Guest guest
Dear Fliss, We lost our power this evening from 7 pm until 11pm so I'm very late to get to your message. My husband and I sat in the living room and talked our hearts out by candlelight. It was really quite refreshing and enjoyable to not have any other distractions pulling us away, not even the phone. I might " schedule " monthly power outages just so we can have this quiet time together. A bit of music would have been nice, though, don't you think? The only negative to this was that when the lights suddenly popped back on, we saw the remaining three minutes of some wonderful concert program paying tribute to on, with all of his friends and popular performers of his genre performing. I am sorry that we had to miss that and it would have been the perfect accompaniment to our conversation. Well, to get back on topic and onward to your question, though, this 50 something friend is inclined to think perhaps that your aching may be attributed to your age. I have found that the older I get, the more the little joint aches seem to be big joint aches. Feet, knees, hips and hands seem to be most suseptable. I was diagnosed about 10 years ago with rheumatoid arthritis, and had quite a few problems with it for a few years. Then it disappeared completely for several years, only reappearing this past year in my hands and my hips, with my hands aching so badly sometimes that I cannot grip anything, open bottles or even twist open a plastic top of a soft drink bottle. And holding a pen and writing can bring agony. Have you had a full regular check up recently with a bone density test? We are also at the age where we need to be on the lookout for osteoporosis problems. I had mine done in '03 and found that I do have osteophenia, unfortunately, which is the beginning stages of osteoporosis. My intern said that my chronic pancreatitis only helped to make the discomfort more obvious....gee, thanks, Doc! Why don't you speak with your regular doctor, what we call an intern or a PCP, and see what they say? Often there are simple exercises or OTC medicines that can help reduce the inflamation and symptoms to some degree. I hope this helps. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
