Hi Chrissie,

How are you doing?

Your work hours sound good. I'm not that good with early starts though! I like

my sleep - when i can sleep properly, that is!

I had my TP in August, 2000. At the time i was part way through doing my diploma

in children's nursing, so i suppose, in a way, i had something to aim for in

getting back to work. I have had problems getting promotion. I had to apply for

my grade 3 times. Each time i had more qualifications and experience than any of

the other applicants, but it took three attempts to get it. I'm sure it had

something to do with the amount of time i've had off sick, but, of course, and

employer won't admit to that, will they?

I am impressed with what i have read about insulin pumps. I'm hoping they will

soon be available in this area. Another possible problem is that the giving

sets, cartridges, dressings etc have to come out of the budget of your family

doctor. My family doctor complains about the cost of Creon, so i don't know if

he would be willing to fund this. I am due to see my diabetic consultant soon,

so i shall ask him about it.

It's really quiet at home now. My daughter went back to school yesterday, my son

is at work, and my husband has been on nights (he's a nurse too - in ICU). I'm

sure i shall soon be wanting to get back to work.

Thank you for your friendship. Please keep in touch.

All the best.

Sue
